About Us
The two of us,
Terry and Sandy Hays, had always dreamed of owing our own
business and working together. Since we both had prior
camping experiences, the idea of owning a campground
eventually surfaced. We spent two years researching and
talking to other owners and finally realized our version of
the American Dream when we purchased the
Sallisaw/Fort
Smith West
KOA
in the spring of 2000.
Campground ownership is a great business. We have met many
interesting and fun people from all over the country and the
world. Any given year will bring us campers from 40-45
states and 10-12 foreign countries.
Through hard work and planning, the campground has seen many
positive changes. When you check in at this campground, you
are talking to the owners not a disinterested employee or
manager. We are here to accommodate you and attend to your
concerns or needs. Our office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to
8:00 P.M. (longer in the summer) 7 days a week. You will
know who we are. Look for the yellow
KOA
shirts. You might even see us in the park walking Barney,
the 50% Yellow Lab, 50% Golden Retriever, 100% friendly
dufus dog.
For our customers, we strive to provide a safe, friendly,
and well-maintained RV park/campground. (After all, we live
here too!) We have guidelines for this park. The goal of
these guidelines is to enhance each customer’s camping
experience and increase the safety of the campers and the
campground.
